Pierre Yves Gervais' paintings are distantly related to Hyperrealism and usually depict fragmentary elements like a woman's neck or car engines. In 1994 he showed a collection of paintings in the Galerie Veille-du-Temple, Paris. In the same year he brought out a book of collages with Gilbert Lascault, in which he used meat advertisements, selecting, framing and breaking up the pieces of meat to create lewd images.
