About the artist:

Regina Baumhauer is noted for her engagement of themes related to the socially transformative effects of postmodern technologies portrayed in Klee-like compositions that are both playful and penetrating. Her work explores a wide range of techniques, materials and mediums often combining painting, drawing and printmaking in a single piece. Baumhauer began her formal education with an emphasis on printmaking at Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart, Germany. She continued her art studies at Boston University and later was a resident at the renowned art colony Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, NY 2005. Today, she lives and has her studio in downtown Manhattan. Since the mid-1980s, Baumhauer’s work has been shown in museums and galleries in Germany and the United States, including SüdWestGalerie, Städtische Galerie Bad Vilbel, New Art Center (New York), Tweed Gallery (New York), Berrett House Gallery (Phoughkeepsie), Peter Bartlow Gallery (Chicago), and GSU Gallery (Boston). Her work is represented in permanent collections in both Europe and the United States including the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, the Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst Baden-Württemberg, Univerität Tübingen, Sammlung permanent collection der Kunstakeademie Stuttgart, Museum Ulm, Theiss Verlag, and Bayerische Landesbank (New York).
