A brightly colored abstract by American artist, Robert Motherwell in excellent condition and beautifully framed.

It is hand-signed and numbered lower right in pencil, signed and dated in the plate upper right. The collage element reproduced in the center of the image is a fragment of a Korn's lithographic ink label (from the Catalogue).

About The Artist: Robert Motherwell

A leading exponent of American abstract expressionism, Robert Motherwell has served as a vital spokesman for the avant-garde of the mid-twentieth century. He introduced the term "abstract expressionism" into the United States, and helped crystallize the direction of the new movement with his painting and writing.
