Canadian (1956)
About the artist:
Rob Zeer was born in 1956 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan and presently lives in Calgary, Alberta. He has shown and exhibited his paintings in Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto and New York. He is mainly self taught with minor instruction at the University of Calgary and Alberta College of Art. Primarily Zeer's work depicts the Canadian Landscape and Figure using charcoal and acrylic on canvas or paper. His painting is often compared to the work of different members of the Canadian "Group Of Seven" with his own perspective and flavour. Zeer understands the Canadian landscape and its rugged spiritual quality. At his easel, always painting on site (en plein air), he best depicts this special quality. He hopes to convey this quality to others in a profound, enduring way.
