About the artist:
DeGrom’s mixed media art focuses on the fanciful and beautiful aspects of life. Many of his works, captured from local, recognizable scenes, evoke responses… emotions…feelings... for the viewer to enjoy. Are you looking at a painting - or is it a photograph? The debate goes on! His works are the product of a keen eye, technical expertise, and creative talent. His earlier work was shot using Nikon 35mm film cameras. His newer work was shot digitally. DeGrom creates his picture using numerous techniques to create the effect that compliments the mood and imagery that he is trying to achieve. A fine art giclée is then printed on acid-free watercolor paper. The ink used in this art is state of the art archival. DeGrom has received numerous awards for his work which is found in public and private collections. His work, published in books and appearing on annual report covers has also been on the covers of national publications including Boating Magazine, Rudder Magazine, and Venture Magazine. He has had numerous one man shows. After receiving a degree in Photographic Science from Rochester Institute of Technology, DeGrom became an advertising photographer in N.Y.C.
