About the artist:

Sheila Goloborotko who is from Brazil, earned her MFA at Brooklyn College in 1986. Currently she is working on her doctorate in Studio Arts at New York University. She is affiliated with the Kramer Gallery in Sao Paulo, the Women's Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sao Paulo. Her work is in the Mashida Museum in Tokyo. She received a Bernard Shaw Memorial Award at Brooklyn College. Established in Dumbo, Brooklyn since 1989 Goloborotko's Studio is a center for production and diffusion of printmaking whose principal goal is to encourage the voice and vision of individual artists in a nurturing environment that supports the creation of works that push the boundaries of printmaking. In March 2005, Goloborotko’s Studio launched a new site in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania. This renovated barn has been since its opening, an active artistic environment directly involved in the development of this rural community. Our workshops, in both locations are designed for a range of skill levels, from the novice to the working artist, from specific projects to experimental sessions. Our success is based on the powerful combination of collaboration and artistic vision, integrating research and experimentation with the creation of prints.
