German (1960)
To capture this image, Lutter transported her shipping container-turned-camera obscura to the Frankfurt Airport staging area, where she was able to safely capture this ephemeral image.
Because of the lengthy exposure time employed in her work, she is able to capture traces of movement that add a distinct temporal dimension to this image. This near illusion of movement draws further attention to the vastness and permanence of industry itself.
