Victor Chab

Argentine (1930)

About the artist:

Born in Buenos Aires the 6 of September of 1930. He realized 90 individual exhibitions and participated in more than 200 collective exhibitions in the country and abroad. Chab is Chab. It recognizes no doubt the thoroughness with which addresses their presentations. We recall in 1994 when they met 50 years with the painting. It gave the luxury, in addition to being a celebration of conducting simultaneous five samples that caused a commotion. In 2002, his retrospective, served to know their phases, from "Apple on the table" (1947), award-winning book by Berni and Victorica at the same time to reflect on their aesthetic concerns that it connects with surrealism and with the notion of automatism: start the work without prior ideas, without any sketch, which has not ceased to adhere. In its current shows in Rubbers, Victor Chab (1930), returns to surprise us with a series of drawings by its complexity invites us to follow his hand for the role. It is not an exhibition to come and go at each table, usually in small format, recognizing its forms, some sculptural, others, larva, fantastic beings and machines and even some ritual meaning. Luis Felipe Noe who together created a stupid space "Line thinks" and author of the text of the catalog, notes that "Chab has returned to cultivate the line as a form of free thinking." And if you think for careful contemplation means falling into the inevitable association, to continue his stroke in its infinite variations and resources, delay before the intensity of the funds, to recall a fragment of Enrique Molina when referring to a bestiary gloomy artist: "… a piece night / rest black / depth… ", is worth this sample of an artist who always makes us share the experience of art.
