About the artist:

​He read English at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, after which he wrote a thesis on German Expressionist Cinema at The Slade, University College, London. He then took a second postgraduate degree in Printmaking at The Slade.

​He was a Teaching Assistant at The Slade (1977-79), lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art (1980–95), Visiting Professor at The University of Central Florida (1982-83), Visiting Fellow at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, Lacoste, France (1996-98), and Visiting Tutor at West Dean College (2004-16).

His work is held in the collections of The British Museum, The Ashmolean Museum, The Victoria & Albert Museum, University College London, Blackburn City Museum, The Scottish Arts Council, The Sackner Archive, Florida, Pallant House, The Muzeul Florean, Romania.

He lives and works in London, and is represented by Pratt Contemporary Art.
